PROGRAMME
for establishing mentoral activity
Ø AIM: supporting the purpose of EQ24 project
Ø CONCEPTION: adopting an effective and active way of support from the social sector to the world of labour, helping the EQ24 target groups.
Ø WHO IS A MENTOR?
Mentors are helpers (10% of the target group of the project i.e. 100 person) providing information and support members of the target groups who turn to them with problems in connection with the aim of the project. (Mentors also provide information)
Ø TASKS OF MENTORS
· Supplying with information the employees participated in the development programme till the end of the 6th month following the end of the programme.
o labour troubles
o labour connected social problems
o physical, mental problems
- helping the process of problem solving with advisory activity
- representing interests if necessary in case of situations threatening the success of the development programme
- mentors can use PC supported information system or specialists in different fields (labour law, medical, mentalhygienic, social, family helper)
- documentation
Ø RELATIONSHIP
In general the mentor is in connection with experts participating in the development programme of the target group, HR specialists representing the employee, EQ experts running the database system (KRE, HSZK). The mentor could play an intermediary role between the supporter institutions and the participants of the development programme.
Ø INSTRUMENTS OF THE MENTORAL ACTIVITY
The most important instruments of the mentor are his/her helping competences, personality, professional knowledge (abilities and skills; information about the situation of employees; knowing the concrete labour environment; medical /rehabilitational/, mentalhygienical, labour law and social knowledge), available specialists and the PC backed mentoral information system. Way of communication is the web page of EQ24 project, telephone line or e-mail, besides the personal contacts.

Ø MEDIATORAL SERVICE
The activity of mentors is completed with mediatoral service.
The aim of the mediatoral service:
Supporting the project and the establishment and running of the mentoral network with professional mediatoral activity.
Concept:
Making the mentors knowing the method of mediation, so they could use it in their work or they can recommend it.
Conducting concrete mediatoral procedure on request and according to separate agreement.
What is the role of the mediatoral activity in the mentoral service? Taking part in
· the settlement of disputes between the employer and the employee
· managing family crisises influencing the quality of work
· settling destructive disputes between colleagues
· improving the negotional abilities, representing the interests of the employees participating in the training
Connection possibilities of the mentoral activity:
· There are already active mediatoral services in 6 regions of the country mainly specialized in family conflicts
· The mentoral database should contain the coordinates of the regional mediators and should provide appropriate information about their activity
· One of the topics of the mentoral club meetings will be the familiarization of the method, and if necessary, carrying out a concrete mediatoral procedure with the supervision of experts in the given group.
Ø SELECTION OF MENTORS
The mentor is a voluntary helper, identifying herself/himself with the aim of the programme.
During the selection, determining factors are voluntarism, ability to fulfil the tasks, applicants should be motivated and familiar with the target group (activities, life situations, working place peculiarities)

· Taking part in the development process (Insight test information, trainings – especially labour law knowledge, EU)
· Reference from trainer or employer could be important
· Permanent PC accessibility, E-mail usage
Ø Preparation of the mentors
The preparation for mentoral activity begins with a one-day starting programme, followed by a personalized consultation or establishment of a supporting group in the framework of Mentoral Workshop on request.
Ø mentor CLUB
The aim of Mentor Club: Forming the members of the training groups choosed by the trainers to a volunteer supporting team for maintaing the aims of the project for a long term.
Functions:
· Providing possibilities for the discussion of experiences
· Establishing a supporting team for maintainig personal connections
· Possibility for consultation
· Providing individual or team supervision for professional development and for preventing burnout
Location: in seven regions, after finishing the trainings.
After finishing the training we look after the organisation of the club for half a year, but our aim is to maintain it by mentors.
Ø Financing :Mentoring activity is a voluntary work, without salary. This is a service financed by either the peson who requires it, or in case of no other source of money, by the mentor herself/himself.
In case if it is reasonable the mentor may get cost refund. |
